City of Edinburg Launches Citywide Mosquito Spraying Effort

Staff Report
EDINBURG TX – City of Edinburg crews will begin citywide mosquito spraying as weather conditions allow, focusing efforts on reducing mosquito populations and minimizing the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
Spraying operations will take place only when wind speeds are below 10 mph to ensure effective coverage. Residents are encouraged to report mosquito problem areas by calling 311, using the 311 app, or contacting the city directly at (956) 381-5635.
City officials also urge residents to eliminate standing water around homes, such as in flowerpots, birdbaths, and gutters, to help prevent mosquito breeding.
The initiative is part of the city’s ongoing public health and safety measures during the warmer months.
