Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV Awarded $25,000, Set to Represent City in Washington, D.C.

Staff Report

EDINBURG TX – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV has been awarded $25,000 through the national Think, Learn, Create (TLC) initiative, a collaborative program led by Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The funding recognizes the Club’s youth-led project, which was presented to Edinburg Mayor Pro Tem Jason De Leon earlier this week. As part of the award, the youth leaders will travel to Washington, D.C., to represent Edinburg at the upcoming Summit for America’s Youth.

The TLC initiative supports innovative community-based projects created by young people that focus on education, leadership, and civic engagement. The Edinburg team was one of a select number of Clubs nationwide to receive the distinction.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg RGV has served the community since 1969, providing after-school programs, mentorship, and youth development opportunities for children and teens throughout the region.
