Edinburg Library to Host Art, STEM and Drama Sessions in July for Summer Reading Program

EDINBURG, TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library will continue its 2025 “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program into July with a variety of themed workshops for children and teens. Week 4 of the program runs from July 1 to July 3, offering both morning and evening sessions designed to foster creativity, learning, and community engagement.

For children, the Color Me A Story series will include:

  • July 1 – Toddler Time: Chalk Up A Story (10 a.m. & 5:30 p.m.)
  • July 2 – STEM: Binary Code Bracelet (10 a.m. & 5:30 p.m.)
  • July 3 – Art: Paint Me A Picture (10 a.m. & 5:30 p.m.)

Each activity aims to combine literacy with hands-on exploration, ranging from early learning to science and visual arts.

Teens will have their own lineup under the Color Me Dramatic series, with events beginning each evening at 6 p.m.:

  • July 1 – Special Guest: Lights, Camera, Action!
  • July 2 – Colorful & Visual Poetry Collage

The teen sessions emphasize expressive arts and creative storytelling through drawing, painting, and multimedia projects.
