EDINBURG – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) and the City of Edinburg have announced the expansion of the Shoppes at McColl, a 12,300-square-foot shopping plaza located at 1816 S. McColl Rd. The expansion introduces a variety of retail and service options to the community, further boosting Edinburg’s local economy.

The Shoppes at McColl hosts several businesses, including the Play Street Museum, an innovative family attraction and the first of its kind in the region. Other businesses in the plaza include Subway, Martial Tactics, and Voya Insurance, with more expected to open. The diverse offerings range from dining and entertainment to professional services, catering to both residents and visitors.

With a capital investment of $2 million, the expansion is expected to generate 30 new jobs. The development also includes two electric vehicle charging stations, underscoring Edinburg’s commitment to sustainability.

“This plaza not only brings jobs but also creates a space where families can spend quality time together in our 4-time All-America City,” said Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. “Projects like this contribute to making Edinburg a more welcoming and vibrant community—a place we’re proud to call home.”
