Edinburg to Host 4th Annual 9/11 Remembrance Run/Walk

EDINBURG, TX — The City of Edinburg will hold its 4th Annual 9/11 Patriot Day of Remembrance 5K Memorial Run/Walk on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in honor of the sacrifices made by first responders on September 11, 2001.

The event, commemorating the heroes who perished in the attacks, will start and finish at Fire Station 1. The 5K race begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by a free Honorary Walk at 9:11 a.m. around Edinburg City Hall, symbolizing 911 steps.

Registration for the 5K is available at www.ActiveEdinburg.com until September 5, with a $15 fee per person. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, September 6, at the Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department, located at 315 Mark S. Pena Drive, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on race day at Fire Station 1 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.
