Edinburg Police Investigate Shooting Incident Stemming from Road Rage
Edinburg, TX, November 14, 2024 — Edinburg Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident on Tuesday, November 14, 2024, shortly before 2 p.m. The incident occurred in the 100 block of N. I-69C and was reported to 911 as shots fired.
The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a road rage encounter. The victim, driving a red Ford Explorer, reported being followed from Pharr, TX via I-69C by an older model Silver Dodge Ram. The driver of the Ram, believed to be an older male with white facial hair, allegedly opened fire on the victim while both vehicles were traveling northbound in the area of the 100 block of N. I-69C.
Fortunately, no injuries occurred as a result of the shooting. The victim’s vehicle was processed at the police department, where fragments of one projectile were recovered. The suspect, last seen in the area of N. I-69C and Monte Cristo Road, remains at large.
