Edinburg Celebrates Turf Enhancement At Edinburg Municipal Park 

Edinburg, TX, August 15, 2023  –  Batter up! The City of Edinburg celebrated the ribbon cutting of the upgraded Municipal Park field turf in Edinburg just in time for the next sports season. 

This enhancement was made possible through a $338,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Block Grant Program and a $41,000 grant from the Park Land Dedication Fund. 

Field number two will now have an all-weather turf, adjustable bases, and a drainage system, making it a safe, even, and multi-use field for future athletic programs. The City held the ribbon-cutting celebration on Monday, August 14, at 6:15 p.m. at Edinburg Municipal Park, 714 S. Longoria Rd. 

This is part of an overall turf enhancement that will also include an irrigation system upgrade for field number two in the near future.
