Museum Archives To Close During October
EDINBURG, Texas — The Museum of South Texas History will close the Margaret H. McAllen Memorial Archives during the month of October.
The National Archives celebrates American Archives Month throughout the month of October, which encourages archival repositories across the nation to promote the preservation of the country’s documentary heritage.
To better preserve and maintain the historical treasures in the Margaret H. McAllen Memorial Archives, the archives will close and use this time to perform inventory, reorganize and rehouse collection materials, and process outstanding donations.
No in-person research appointments are available, and no donations will be accepted. Normal services will resume in November. For questions, please contact archivist Kelly Francis-Love at 956-383-6911 or [email protected].
The museum’s digital collections can be viewed at www.mosthistory.org/archive-artifact-collections.
