EDINBURG TX – The Edinburg Police Department is accepting applications for the position of entry-level police officer, with a deadline of May 25, 2026, to submit all required application materials and documentation to the City of Edinburg Human Resources/Civil Service Division. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.
Testing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. at the Edinburg Activity Center, 123 E. Mark S. Pena Dr., Edinburg, Texas 78539. Doors open at 8:00 a.m.
Starting Salary
Starting salaries are as follows: $42,666.11 for probation non-certified; $57,235.66 for probation certified; and $70,008.09 after probation.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements: be a United States citizen; be at least 21 years of age by Dec. 10, 2026, the expiration date of the eligibility list; be a high school graduate or have passed a general educational development test indicating high school graduation level; hold a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, with a valid Texas driver’s license required prior to employment; have completed and submitted all required documentation by the deadline; be able to intelligently read and write the English language; and meet the minimum standards set forth in the published notice and established minimum qualifications in the position classification plan as adopted by the Civil Service Commission.
