Edinburg, TX – A section of Alberta Road in Edinburg will be closed later this month to allow crews to install new drainage infrastructure, city officials said.

Street closure details and timeline

The closure will affect Alberta Road between Shalom Drive and Calle Divina. According to the City of Edinburg, the closure is scheduled to begin Jan. 13 and is expected to remain in effect through Jan. 23.

City officials said the temporary closure is necessary to accommodate construction work related to drainage improvements along the roadway.

Traffic impacts and public notice

Drivers are advised to avoid the area during the construction period and use alternate routes when possible. The city said access to nearby neighborhoods may be impacted while work is underway.

Officials asked residents and motorists to use caution near the construction zone and thanked the public for its patience during the project.
