Young Scientists to Shine at ECISD District Science Fair Events

Edinburg, TX – Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District will celebrate student innovation and discovery during its 2025-2026 District Science Fair, with a week of events showcasing projects from secondary and elementary students.

The multi-day event will take place at the Edinburg Activity Center, located at 123 E. Mark S. Peña Dr., and will include project displays, judging, science-themed entertainment, and awards ceremonies open to students, families, and community members.

Science Fair Schedule and Highlights

The science fair officially kicks off Monday, Dec. 15, with a setup and project turn-in deadline of 9 a.m. Judging will begin at 1 p.m., as evaluators review entries from across ECISD’s campuses.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, the spotlight turns to secondary students with a public showcase beginning at 5:30 p.m. and awards ceremony following at 6:00 p.m.

Elementary students will take the stage the next evening, Wednesday, Dec. 17, with their own showcase and awards scheduled at the same times: 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The final day, Thursday, Dec. 18, is reserved for clean-up and closing the venue.

Family-Friendly Fun and Learning

Both the secondary and elementary showcases will feature family-oriented activities such as a photo booth, live chemistry demonstrations, a slime-making station, and interactive exhibits designed to spark curiosity among attendees of all ages.

District officials encourage families to come out and support students as they present the results of months of research and creative exploration.

The annual science fair is part of ECISD’s ongoing efforts to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and provide students with opportunities to apply classroom learning in meaningful ways.
