Edinburg, TX -The American Legion Alfredo Gonzalez Post 408 will host the 48th Annual Pan de Campo Cook-Off on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at the Edinburg Amphitheater, marking a move to a larger venue to accommodate more teams and spectators.

Pan de campo, often called “camp bread,” is a traditional South Texas dish baked in cast-iron, and many Valley cook-offs center their festivities around it. American Legion posts organize community events like this to raise awareness of veterans’ programs and bring neighbors together in support of local service members and their families.
Sponsors listed for the cook-off include Folds of Honor, the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, L&F Distributors, Champions Barbecue Alliance and CB3.
