UTRGV to make announcement with new UT Center in Laredo

RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS – APRIL 25, 2022 – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will make an announcement Thursday, April 28, at the UT Education and Research Center at Laredo regarding the establishment of a partnership to offer degrees in social work in Laredo.

UTRGV and UT System have established a Memorandum of Understanding to expand UTRGV’s social work program both at the undergraduate and graduate levels at the UT Center at Laredo.

The UT Center at Laredo is expanding comprehensive undergraduate and graduate degree and certification programs to better serve the healthcare and educational needs of one of the fastest-growing regions of Texas.

The 87th Legislature in 2021 approved the establishment and operation of a multi-institution center in Laredo to host educational activities, engage in community outreach and conduct and facilitate research.
