Edinburg Firefighters Deployed to Assist with Central Texas Flood Response

Staff Report
EDINBURG TX – Two firefighters from the Edinburg Fire Department have been deployed to Central Texas as part of Texas A&M Task Force 1 to assist in ongoing flood response operations following severe storms in the region.
The deployment comes in response to significant flooding that has impacted Kerr County and surrounding areas. Local and state emergency crews, including specialized teams like Texas A&M Task Force 1, are working to support search, rescue, and recovery efforts.
“Our thoughts are with the communities affected by this disaster, as well as with the first responders on the ground providing critical aid,” city officials stated.
Texas A&M Task Force 1 is one of the most active urban search and rescue teams in the nation and is often deployed during large-scale emergencies. The Edinburg firefighters will work alongside personnel from across the state to assist those impacted and help restore affected areas.
