‘MATICES 2025’ Folklórico Dance Concert to Celebrate Mexican Heritage in Edinburg

EDINBURG, TX — The Edinburg Cultural Arts Division is inviting the public to celebrate the vibrancy of Mexican heritage through MATICES 2025, a folklórico dance concert set for May 9 and 10 at the Edinburg Municipal Auditorium.
The two-hour showcase, presented by Edinburg’s Conceptos Dance Ensemble, will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night and will feature traditional dances from various Mexican regions, including Michoacán, Chihuahua, Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Huasteca, and Aguascalientes. The program will also incorporate high-energy clogging numbers and a special guest appearance by folklórico artist Topiltzin “Topi” Borsegui Alcalá.
Designed as a family-friendly event, MATICES 2025 highlights regional storytelling, colorful costumes, and live music, bringing together cultural appreciation and performance art in one dynamic experience.
Tickets are available at a pre-sale price of $7 online at edinburgarts.com, with admission priced at $10 at the door. Children 10 and under may attend for free. Public parking will be available in front of Edinburg City Hall.
Proceeds from the event benefit Conceptos Dance Ensemble, helping to maintain affordable classes and accessible performances for the Edinburg community.
