Texas Match the Promise Foundation Offers Scholarships for Future College Students

Staff Report

The Texas Match the Promise Foundation℠ is now accepting scholarship applications from eligible students in grades three through nine who are beneficiaries of the Texas Tuition Promise Fund® (TTPF), the state’s prepaid college tuition plan. This scholarship program supports families with adjusted gross incomes of $120,000 or less by enhancing their contributions to the TTPF.

The scholarships provide tuition units that can be used to cover undergraduate resident tuition and required fees at Texas public colleges and universities, excluding medical and dental schools.

Scholarship Details
Approved applicants may receive matching tuition units valued up to $2,000 at current rates. Additionally, the 12 highest-scoring applicants will be awarded a one-time grant of tuition units worth $3,000. The match ratio depends on family income:

  • Families with incomes of $75,000 or less can receive a 4-to-1 match on contributions, up to $2,000.
  • Families with incomes between $75,001 and $120,000 can receive a 2-to-1 match on contributions, up to $1,000.

To qualify, applicants must write a 200- to 300-word essay about their career goals and meet other program requirements. Families must also contribute a minimum of $50 to their TTPF account by August 31, 2025, to meet the program’s contribution requirement.

How to Apply
Applications can be submitted online or mailed, with a deadline of December 31, 2024. Families interested in the program can also enroll in the TTPF during the application period.
