Edinburg World Birding Center celebrates Free Fishing Day with educational programming

Edinburg, Texas – The Edinburg World Birding Center (EWBC) announced its participation in Free Fishing Day, a statewide event in Texas, taking place on Saturday, June 3, 2023. As part of this celebration, the EWBC will be offering engaging programming within the World Birding Center to promote fishing education and provide participants with valuable skills and knowledge.

Free Fishing Day is a unique opportunity for all residents and visitors of Texas to enjoy the thrill of fishing without the need for a fishing license in any public water. In support of this event, the EWBC is organizing a series of educational programs designed to introduce participants to the basics of fishing. The programs will focus on fundamental skills such as knot tying, safety measures, and best practices for successful fishing.

While fishing will not be permitted within the premises of the World Birding Center, nearby municipal park ponds will be available for citizens to make use of this exceptional day and apply the knowledge acquired during the EWBC programs. Participants will have the chance to connect with nature, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and engage in a fulfilling fishing experience.

The free event will be hosted at the Edinburg World Birding Center, located at 714 S. Raul Longoria Rd., on Saturday, June 3. The programs will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., providing ample time for attendees to learn, engage, and discover the wonders of fishing. Individuals of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate and take advantage of this exceptional opportunity.
