Edinburg Hosts Little League Opening Ceremony Tonight

Edinburg TX, April 5, 2023

Little Leaguers, grab your bats, baseballs, and gloves! It is time to begin the season.

The City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Little League Opening Day Ceremony scheduled for tonight, April 5, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the UTRGV Baseball Stadium. A total of 112 baseball and softball teams will be playing in the league this year, the most ever for the City of Edinburg! Approximately 1500 young athletes are expected to attend Wednesday’s opening ceremony. 

Teams are encouraged to arrive by 5:45 p.m. The UTRGV concession stand and merchandise store will be open to patrons. Mayor Pro Tem David White and Councilmember Dan Diaz will throw out the ceremonial first pitches.
