Edinburg Author Rey Banda Earns Distinguished Favorite Honor at NYC Big Book Award

Edinburg TX – Edinburg author Rey A. Banda has earned a Distinguished Favorite designation in the Children’s Inspirational category at the 2025 NYC Big Book Award for his book “The Sons and The Stars,” illustrated by Joe L. Hernandez.

The book has also received recognition from several other literary organizations, including the Firebird Book Award, Readers’ Favorite Five Stars, International Impact Book Award, The Bookfest Award, Purple Dragonfly Book Award, Royal Dragonfly Book Award, and Story Monsters Approved Winner designations.

Copies of Banda’s books are available at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library, 1906 S. Closner Blvd., Edinburg.
