Edinburg CISD Board Acts to Non-Renew Two Employee Contracts at Short June 16 Special Meeting

Edinburg TX – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees held a brief special meeting Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., taking action to non-renew the Chapter 21 contracts of two district employees.

The meeting was called to order with board members Dominga Vela, Carmen Gonzalez, David Torres, and Letty Flores present, along with legal counsel, establishing a quorum. No public comments were submitted.

On item 5A1, the board approved a recommendation from administration to non-renew the Chapter 21 contract of an employee identified in the agenda only by the initials MS. The motion passed unanimously.

On item 5A2, the board approved a recommendation from administration to non-renew the Chapter 21 contract of an employee identified in the agenda only by the initials GT. The motion also passed unanimously.

The board then voted to adjourn the meeting.
