Edinburg TX – A 25-year-old man, Andrew Rodriguez, was arraigned on a charge of intoxication assault in connection with a crash that left a 22-year-old woman in critical condition.

According to a preliminary investigation, the incident occurred Saturday, April 25, at approximately 2:20 a.m. Rodriguez was driving a Toyota Tacoma with the windows down while the victim was seated in the rear left seat.

Investigators said Rodriguez was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when he made a sharp turn onto Rutherford Avenue from Sonoma Avenue, causing the victim to be ejected from the rear left window.

Bond for Rodriguez was set at $75,000.
