Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg will host the ‘Cool City’ Celebration on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Promenade Park Amphitheater. The free community event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will recognize Earth Day, Arbor Day, National Community Development Week and Stormwater Awareness Week. City departments will attend to share information about services, programs and resources.

Program details

According to the announcement, the event will include activities designed to promote sustainability and environmental awareness. Attendees can participate in a bike raffle, visit tree nurseries and engage with vendors at informational booths. The Utilities Department will also provide presentations focused on water conservation.

Tree adoption opportunity

Residents will have the opportunity to participate in a tree adoption event while supplies last. The initiative is made possible through a partnership with the Texas A&M Forest Service and Region One. The event is intended to provide a family-friendly setting while sharing information about environmental programs and services available in the community.
