Edinburg, TX – Deputies with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office seized more than 460 pounds of suspected cocaine during the execution of a search warrant Monday as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the warrant was executed Jan. 19 at a property in the 19300 block of Citrus Drive in rural Edinburg. During the operation, deputies with the Special Operations Division recovered 189 packages containing suspected cocaine with an estimated total weight of approximately 462 pounds.
Ongoing narcotics investigation
Authorities said the seizure is tied to an active investigation and did not release additional details about arrests or potential charges. The case remains under investigation.
Officials emphasized that the operation reflects continued efforts by the sheriff’s office to disrupt large-scale narcotics trafficking in Hidalgo County.
