Edinburg to hold Dec. 17 public hearing on annual federal grant report

Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg will host a public hearing Dec. 17 to present its Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for the 2024–2025 program year, outlining how federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds were used to support projects and services in the community.

The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Edinburg City Hall, 415 W. University Drive. City staff from the Grants Administration Department will provide a summary of resources received and accomplishments funded through the CDBG program, which targets housing, neighborhood improvements and services for low- and moderate-income residents.

The CAPER is available for public review from Dec. 3 through Dec. 18 at City Hall and at the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library. Residents may submit written comments on the report to the Grants Administration Department, P.O. Box 1079, Edinburg, Texas 78540, or by email to cdbgpubliccomments@cityofedinburg.com. All comments must be received by 4 p.m. on Dec. 18.

The city noted that accommodations are available for persons with disabilities or those needing language assistance if requested in advance through the City Secretary’s Office.
