Edinburg Parks and Recreation earns fifth Platinum Member City Award

Edinburg, TX – The City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department has received the Platinum Member City Award from the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) for the fifth time. The honor was announced during the TAAF annual conference in Waxahachie.
The award recognizes cities that demonstrate outstanding participation and support for recreational sports and community fitness programs. Edinburg has consistently led the state in the number of participants and teams registered through TAAF, reflecting strong community involvement in youth and adult athletic programs.
The Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department oversees dozens of facilities, including municipal parks, athletic fields, and recreation centers. The department organizes leagues, fitness classes, and seasonal activities aimed at promoting health, sportsmanship, and community engagement among residents.
TAAF, a nonprofit organization established in 1925, works with cities across Texas to promote amateur athletics and recreational opportunities.
