Library Invites Families to Join Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Staff Report

Edinburg, TX – The Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library is calling on families to showcase their creativity during its annual Family Pumpkin Decorating Contest, with submissions accepted from Oct. 13 through Oct. 19 in the library’s Children’s Department.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their pumpkins based on a children’s book or literary character. Each family may submit one entry, along with a registration form, to take part in the contest.

Pumpkins will be displayed in the Children’s Department from Oct. 21 through Oct. 31, when the public can cast one vote per day for their favorite design. Entries can be picked up between Nov. 1 and Nov. 5.

The event aims to promote literacy and community engagement through a fun, family-friendly activity celebrating art and reading.
