Com. Ellie Torres to host live Fire Prevention Month talk with area fire chiefs

Edinburg, TX – Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres will host a live edition of her monthly talk show Thursday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m., featuring regional fire leaders for a discussion on home fire safety, lithium-ion battery risks and youth volunteerism in the fire service.
Scheduled guests include Edinburg Fire Chief Omar Garza, Hidalgo County Fire Marshal Homero Garza and McAllen Fire Chief Juan Ángel Gloria. Viewers can watch and submit questions in real time on Facebook and YouTube.
The program coincides with Fire Prevention Month, observed each October to promote household safety and preparedness. Local officials say the conversation will highlight practical prevention steps and outline opportunities for young people to get involved with community fire departments.
The stream will air on the commissioner’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
