Staff Report
EDINBURG TX – The Edinburg Police Department will host its 29th annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 5, bringing together families and law enforcement for an evening of community celebration, safety awareness, and live entertainment.
The event begins at 6 p.m. at Promenade Park Amphitheater, located at 201 W. McIntyre St. Highlights include performances by the Fabulous Cruisers and a special appearance by Edinburg native and Tejano music star Bobby Pulido.
Organizers say the event is designed to strengthen relationships between residents and local law enforcement through a family-friendly atmosphere that includes a car show, carnival rides, children’s games, and food from local vendors. Free school backpacks will be distributed while supplies last.
“National Night Out is more than just a celebration — it’s about building trust, sharing safety resources, and making lasting connections,” said Edinburg Police Chief Jaime Ayala.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer and more caring places to live.
