Museum of South Texas History to Host Inaugural Tacos & Tequila Fundraiser

Staff Report
EDINBURG TX — The Museum of South Texas History will debut its first annual Tacos & Tequila fundraiser on July 25, offering an evening of food, culture, and music to support its mission of preserving and sharing the Rio Grande Valley’s heritage.
The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. and will feature taco tastings from local taquerías, tequila-inspired beverages, aguas frescas, and live music. Attendees must be 21 or older to participate in tequila tastings. Admission includes food samples, drink tickets, entertainment, and full access to museum exhibits.
A highlight of the evening will be a special pop-up exhibit, Uncrated: Artifacts Out of the Vault, which will showcase rarely seen objects from the museum’s collection. The exhibit is designed to give guests a closer look at the artifacts that illuminate the region’s cultural and agricultural legacy.
“Tacos & Tequila is more than a party. It’s a way for the community to come together around our shared history,” said Francisco Guajardo, CEO of the Museum of South Texas History.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum’s exhibitions, educational initiatives, and preservation of historic collections. Tickets can be purchased at www.mosthistory.org.
The Museum of South Texas History, located in downtown Edinburg, is dedicated to chronicling the history and blended cultures of the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas through permanent and rotating exhibits, community events, and educational programs.
