Edinburg to Debut New Turf Fields at Municipal Park

EDINBURG, Texas — The City of Edinburg will celebrate the completion of six new state-of-the-art turf fields at Edinburg Municipal Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will take place at 714 S. Raul Longoria Road, showcasing fields 1-4, 7, 8, and 9, which now feature all-weather turf, adjustable bases, and an improved drainage system. The upgrades bring the total number of turf fields at the park to seven, enhancing the facility’s capacity to host sporting events and withstand varying weather conditions.

The $2 million project, funded by the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, began on June 3, 2024. City officials encourage residents and media members to attend the event, which will also be streamed live on the City of Edinburg’s Facebook page and Spectrum Channel 1300.
