Edinburg EDC seeing remarkable growth in North Industrial Park
Edinburg, TX, Sept. 20, 2023 – The Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) unveiled major developments in the City of Edinburg’s North Industrial Park, particularly within RGV CDL – Lot 7B and Lot 9, highlighting remarkable growth and job creation in the region.
RGV CDL – Lot 7B: Shaping the Future of Commercial Truck Driving Training
Aldo Ivan Ortiz, owner of RGV CDL, has made a substantial investment in Edinburg’s North Industrial Park by purchasing three acres of land to develop a cutting-edge 3,500-square-foot training facility for commercial truck drivers. This facility has received approval as a CDL testing facility by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Scheduled to open its doors in the second quarter of 2024, this project is poised to make a lasting impact on the local job market. RGV CDL’s expansion is projected to create 15 new jobs and a capital investment of $550,000 in Edinburg’s thriving business community.
“At the North Industrial Park in Edinburg, RGV CDL has found a home in this 3500 sq. ft. building. It’s not just a space,” Ortiz said. “It’s where we’re turning dreams into reality. Together, we’re creating a brighter future.”
RGV CDL – Lot 9: Advancing Truck Services and Warehousing Solutions
In another exciting development, Ortiz has also acquired 3.55 acres of land in the North Industrial Park for the creation of a state-of-the-art commercial truck service shop and three warehouses available for lease. The shop will span an impressive 4,500 square feet, while the warehouses will offer approximately 9,600 square feet of space combined.
“With the sale of two of our North Industrial Park properties to RGV CDL, we are providing space for a new commercial driver’s license DPS-approved testing facility and truck maintenance shop. RGV CDL is working hard to make sure that our workforce is trained, skilled, and readily available for high-demand occupations such as truck drivers,” Raudel Garza, Executive Director of Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, said.
The commercial truck service shop is expected to be operational by the end of the third quarter of 2024 and is projected to generate 12 new jobs and an $800,000 capital investment. This significant expansion underscores Edinburg’s reputation as a thriving hub for the transportation and logistics industry.
