Edinburg TX, June 14, 2023 — What’s your favorite donut? Glazed? Chocolate covered? Stuffed with delicious fillings? Special flavor? Get ready to be glazed over with new options.

Edinburg residents will soon seen a fourth donut shop to give them more choices for their morning coffee or just to satisfy their sweet tooth.
Dunkin’ Donuts, now calling itself just Dunkin’, will add another Edinburg location at 1706 W University Dr. Ste G, the site previously occupied by Taqueria El Zarape. Dunkin’ already has a location in southwest Edinburg at 4323 S McColl Rd #1, just south of the intersection of Trenton and McColl Roads.

The new Dunkin’ is located just down the street from Shipley Do-Nuts, which opens several years ago just two blocks over at 1900 W. University. Additionally, Pappy Donuts opened last year at 4113 S Sugar Rd Ste. 10.

Of course, for many Edinburg residents, their donut loyalty remains solidly with the decades old El Fenix Bakery at 718 E University Dr. Many long-time Edinburg residents grew up with donuts and pan dulce from El Fenix Bakery. The long-serving bakery was started by Felipe Romero and his family more than 50 years ago.
No date has been announced for the opening of the new Dunkin’.
