Mayor Garza to host ‘Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast’ 

Edinburg, TX, May 30, 2023 – In an effort to emphasize the value of collaboration and faith in the City of Edinburg and across the Rio Grande Valley, Mayor Ramiro Garza Jr. will host his first ‘Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast’ on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 9 a.m. at the Region One Education Service Center.

The unifying event is aimed at bringing together community leaders, residents, and faith-based organizations. The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will provide a platform for reflection, and inspiration. This event seeks to foster stronger relationships, and encourage collaboration, as attendees join in prayer for community, unity, healing, and peace. 

The event will also feature readings by faith leaders and Edinburg North High School Band Director Chad Dempsey, will deliver the keynote address, inspiring attendees with his message of embracing positivity in the midst of adversity. Dempsey was also named a City of Edinburg Hometown Hero this year and ECISD’s 2023 Secondary District Teacher of the Year.
