Edinburg North’s Keyshawn Garcia wins National Track Championship

Photo above — It wasn’t even close as Keyshawn Garcia too the national title in the 800 meter dash at the Running Lane Track Nationals in Huntsville, Alabama.

EDINBURG TX May 30, 2023 –After claiming a State Title in the 800M Dash at the Texas 6A State Track Meet, Edinburg North’s Keyshawn Garcia was far from finished. On May 27th, 2023 he journeyed to Huntsville Alabama to compete with some of the nation’s finest in the “Running Lane Track Nationals” competition.

Through hard work, knowledge and determination Keyshawn put on a masterful display on the track and was able to claim the national title in the 800 meter run. With a career best of 1:51.53 at the State Track Meet Keyshawn was able to push past his limits and achieve a new personal best finishing the national race with a time of 1:49.61.

“I’ve never run that fast before,” Keyshawn told a reporter. It was truly an inspiring display of hard work and determination. Keyshawn has made his family, his friends and Edinburg CISD very proud.
