ART_oLoGy Painting Classes

EDINBURG, TX – The City of Edinburg Library and Cultural Arts Department brings back its popular ART_oLoGy Classes starting January 2023 at the Sekula Memorial Library in Edinburg.

The ART_oLoGy program was created in 2015 with the everyday adult in mind. Artology is a fun class for adults focused on providing a supportive and fun environment for creating artwork and self-expression. ART_oLoGy courses are ideal for those who wish to express their artistic abilities in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

Artology is part of the Cultural Arts Division’s Visual Art Program, established in 2015, and the Edinburg Art & Wellness Program, established in 2022, to focus on helping the community heal through the arts.

A full schedule of the classes is available on the City of Edinburg website at and the Edinburg Cultural Arts website. Classes are free and will be in session from January to December but not in July. Classes focus on Acrylic painting on canvas, with the program expanding into other mediums during the year and adding more classes. Local artist Gracie Garcia teaches the Artology Acrylic Classes.

Classes are at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Register for these classes at Edinburgarts.com/Artology. Registration is free, and all art supplies will be available, but students are welcome to bring their supplies.
