Edinburg CISD Names Top Five Competitors at 32nd Annual Spelling Bee

EDINBURG, Texas – Edinburg CISD hosted its 32nd Annual Spelling Bee at Johnny G. Economedes High School, recognizing the district’s top young spellers.
Caleb Giuoco, an eighth grader from South Middle School, secured first place in the competition. He was followed by Jozlyn Gonzalez and Genesis Masuca, both eighth graders from Longoria Middle School, who placed second and third, respectively. Atena Dominguez Flores, a sixth grader from Barrientes Middle School, finished in fourth place, while Ailany Luna, a fourth grader from Crawford Elementary, took fifth place.
These five students will advance to the 37th Annual Rio Grande Valley Regional Spelling Bee, set for Saturday, March 8, at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance.
