Staff Report

EDINBURG — The Edinburg Police Department is inviting the community to join officers for a series of “Coffee with a Cop” events throughout October. These sessions are designed to strengthen relationships between police officers and residents in a casual, approachable setting.

The first event was held on Oct. 3 at Starbucks on University Drive. Additional gatherings will take place on the following dates:

  • Oct. 10: Starbucks (525 E. Trenton Rd), 9 a.m. to noon
  • Oct. 17: 107 Cafe (4129 W. University Dr.), 9 a.m. to noon
  • Oct. 24: El Caporal 2 (2400 E. Richardson Rd.), 9 a.m. to noon

These meet-ups provide an opportunity for residents to engage in conversation, ask questions, and discuss concerns with local officers. Making the events even more special, the department’s therapy dog, Domino, will be present to greet attendees.
