Auto-Pedestrian Accident Claims Life of Edinburg Resident

Edinburg, TX – November 11, 2023 — In na incident on Saturday evening, tragedy struck in Edinburg as an auto-pedestrian accident claimed the life of 78-year-old Juan Solis. The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of E. University.

Edinburg Police Department officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of the accident. The preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Solis, an Edinburg resident, was walking in the outside lane when he was struck by a black Ford Expedition traveling east.

The driver of the vehicle immediately halted to provide assistance and is fully cooperating with law enforcement officials during the ongoing investigation.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) quickly arrived at the location and transported Mr. Solis to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
