Edinburg Police Chief Jaime Ayala Named Regional Director for State Police Chiefs Association

EDINBURG TX – Edinburg Police Chief Jaime Ayala has been appointed Regional Director for Region 12 of the Texas Police Chiefs Association, which encompasses much of the Rio Grande Valley.
The appointment was made by TPCA President Will Johnson and recognizes Ayala’s decades of service and leadership in Texas law enforcement. Region 12 includes departments throughout South Texas.
Ayala, who has more than 35 years of law enforcement experience, previously served as Affiliate Representative for the South Texas Police Chiefs Association. He has been recognized for his focus on community engagement, public safety innovation, and regional collaboration.
As Regional Director, Ayala will help guide communication and coordination among area police departments, promote officer development, and support the TPCA’s broader goals of advancing professionalism and leadership in law enforcement statewide.
“I’m honored to serve as Regional Director and represent the dedicated law enforcement leaders of Region 12,” said Ayala. “Together, we’ll continue working toward safer communities and stronger partnerships across South Texas.”
The Texas Police Chiefs Association represents more than 1,200 police chiefs and law enforcement executives and provides leadership, advocacy, and training for agencies across the state.
