Disaster Recovery Centers Open Across Hidalgo County for March Storm Victims

EDINBURG TX – Residents of Hidalgo County impacted by the severe weather event from March 26–28 can now access in-person assistance at FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers across the region.

The centers, operated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), provide help for individuals and businesses who suffered property damage during the storms. Services include applying for federal aid, checking application status, and discussing low-interest disaster loans with SBA representatives.

No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome.

Three recovery center locations are currently open:

  • McAllen: Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25th Street
  • Pharr: Pharr Development & Research Center, 850 W. Dicker Road
  • Weslaco: Weslaco Economic Development Center, 275 S. Kansas Avenue

Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All centers are closed on Sundays and will also be closed on federal holidays, including Juneteenth (June 19) and Independence Day (July 4).

Applicants are advised to bring identification, insurance information, a brief summary of the damage, and a valid phone number.
