Friday Is Deadline To Apply For Edinburg Police Department Entry-Level Officer Exam

EDINBURG TX – The Edinburg Police Department is inviting qualified applicants to test for the position of entry-level police officer on Friday, June 13, 2025. Testing will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Edinburg Activity Center, located at 123 E. Palm Dr. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m.
All applications and required documentation must be submitted to the City of Edinburg Human Resources/Civil Service Division by May 30, 2025. No late applications will be accepted.
The department is offering a starting salary of $41,423.41 for non-certified probationary officers, $55,568.60 for certified probationary officers, and $67,969.02 after completion of probation.
Applicants must meet several minimum requirements, including U.S. citizenship, being at least 21 years old by December 13, 2025, and possessing a high school diploma or GED. A valid Texas driver license and a satisfactory driving record are also required. Additional qualifications include the ability to read and write in English and compliance with Civil Service Commission standards.
