EDINBURG, TX — The City of Edinburg’s Trash Bash, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 3, has been postponed due to anticipated rain in the forecast. City officials made the decision out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of staff and volunteers.

The annual community clean-up event, hosted by the Department of Solid Waste Management, was set to begin at 8:30 a.m. at Fountain Park, aiming to bring together residents, students, and civic groups to help beautify public spaces across the city.

“This event brings our community together for a great cause — keeping Edinburg clean and welcoming,” city officials previously said. “It’s a chance to make a visible difference in our neighborhoods and enjoy a morning of service and civic pride.”

Volunteers were encouraged to pre-register via QR code or by contacting the department. The city will announce a rescheduled date once weather conditions permit.

The event is part of Edinburg’s broader efforts to promote environmental responsibility and enhance public spaces through community involvement.
