Staff Report

EDINBURG, Texas — The City of Edinburg will hold a public hearing later this month to gather community input on the use of federal funds for local development projects.

The hearing is scheduled for March 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library, located at 1906 South Closner Blvd.

City officials are seeking public comments on community needs for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Feedback will help shape the city’s Annual Action Plan for the program.

“The purpose of this public hearing is to solicit public comments on community needs for the CDBG Program,” city officials said in the notice. “Interested persons are encouraged to attend and make their views known.”

The CDBG Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, provides resources for projects that benefit low- and moderate-income communities, including infrastructure improvements, housing, and public services.

Persons with disabilities or those who require auxiliary aids or services are encouraged to contact the city secretary’s office at (956) 388-8204 at least three working days before the hearing to make appropriate arrangements.

For more information regarding the hearing, residents can contact the city’s Grants Administration Department at (956) 388-8206.
