26th Annual San Carlos Kite Fun Fly Set for March 22, Kite-building Session Feb. 23

EDINBURG, Texas – The 26th annual San Carlos Kite Fun Fly is set to take place on March 22, 2025, from 8 a.m. to noon at Sunflower Park in San Carlos.

The family-friendly event, organized by longtime coordinator Juan Reyes, offers free admission, parking, and kite kits while supplies last. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own store-bought or handmade kites to participate. Open to all ages, the festival has become a cherished tradition in the community, bringing families and kite enthusiasts together for a morning of outdoor fun.

In preparation for the Fun Fly, organizers will host a live sled kite-building demonstration along with a hands-on class at Ante Books & Creative Studio on Sunday, February 23 in McAllen. All materials will be provided, and those interested in participating can contact Ante Books & Creative Studio for registration.

In addition to kite flying, past events have included activities such as baseball, highlighting the festival’s broader appeal as a community gathering.

The San Carlos Kite Fun Fly continues to celebrate the joy of flight and creativity while fostering community engagement in Edinburg.
