Property Tax Deadline Set for January 31

EDINBURG TX — Hidalgo County esidents have until January 31, 2025, to pay their 2024 property taxes without incurring penalties or interest. Payments sent by mail must bear a postmark dated no later than January 31 to be considered on time.
The Hidalgo County Tax Office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at several locations, with extended hours until 7 p.m. at select offices on January 31. These extended hours apply to the Edinburg, McAllen, Mission, and Weslaco offices.
Taxpayers can also skip in-person lines by paying online at www.hidalgocountytax.org using a credit/debit card or e-check. Additionally, payments by cash or check are accepted at all Lone Star National Bank locations within Hidalgo County. A light green original tax statement or an online statement is required for bank payments.
