Edinburg CISD Cancels Classes Jan. 21 Due to Hazardous Weather

EDINBURG TX — The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (ECISD) has announced that classes will be canceled on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to hazardous winter weather conditions. Forecasters are predicting sub-freezing temperatures and icy road conditions beginning Monday night and lasting until at least noon Tuesday, particularly in the Edinburg area and northern Hidalgo County.

The district will resume its regular school schedule on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Monday, Jan. 20, will follow the normal school day schedule as planned.

The make-up day for the closure will be observed on Monday, April 21, also known as Easter Monday. Updates on scheduling and conditions will be shared through the district’s social media channels and website.
