Edinburg CISD Board to Address Key Personnel Positions, Legal Representation

EDINBURG, Texas — The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees will meet tonight, Jan. 14, to discuss a range of agenda items, including several personnel matters aimed at filling key positions across the district.

The board will consider and potentially take action on the employment of the following individuals:

  • A tutorial facilitator for Robert Vela High School.
  • A special education supervisor for the Special Education Department.
  • A librarian for Zavala Elementary School.
  • A counselor for Robert Vela High School.
  • A curriculum assistant for Canterbury Elementary School.
  • An assistant principal for the Edinburg Alternative Educational Academy (EAEA).
  • A director for the Maintenance & Operations Department.

The Board will also consider Adoption of a Governance Framework for the Board of Trustees.

In three related topics, the Board will also consider:

  • Consider the Adoption of Notice of Public Meeting and Notice of Proposed Legal Services Contract
  • Consider the Adoption of Resolution Approving Contingent Fee Legal Services Contract, Including findings Needed for Submission of Contingent Fee Legal Services Agreement and Request for Expedited Review by the Texas Attorney General
  • Consider Approval of Contingent Fee Legal Services Agreement with O’Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo, PC and Eiland & Bonnin, PC

The meeting is scheduled to take place at the district’s administrative offices starting at 6 pm.
