Traffic Advisory: Road Closures Planned for Edinburg’s Night of Lights Parade

EDINBURG, Texas – The highly anticipated Night of Lights Parade will illuminate downtown Edinburg on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, bringing festive cheer and some temporary traffic changes to the area. Organized by the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and the City of Edinburg, the parade begins at 7 p.m. and features the theme “Country Christmas.”
Thousands of attendees are expected to gather for this free event, which will showcase dazzling floats and entertainment along the parade route.
Road Closures
South Closner Boulevard between Canton Street and Schunior Road will close to vehicular traffic at 6 p.m. on Friday. Roads are expected to reopen following the conclusion of the parade.
Parade Route
The parade will begin at Richard Flores Stadium and proceed through key downtown areas:
- Starting at Richard Flores Stadium on Mark Pena Drive.
- Exiting Tourist Drive onto South Closner Boulevard.
- Traveling north on Closner Boulevard to West Cano Street.
- Heading west onto West Cano Street.
- Turning north onto South 10th Avenue.
- Proceeding onto East McIntyre Street.
- Continuing northbound on North Closner Boulevard.
- Concluding north of the Hidalgo County Courthouse.
