Motorcyclist Killed in Thursday Night Crash in Edinburg

EDINBURG, TX – A 28-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday night following a collision with a metal light pole on the 2800 block of Larkspur Drive.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m., and Edinburg Police Department’s Traffic Division quickly responded to the scene. The rider, identified as Damion Hernandez, was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that alcohol and excessive speed may have been contributing factors in the crash.

The Edinburg Police Department is reminding the public about the dangers of impaired driving and the importance of making responsible decisions. Officers encourage individuals to plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using ride-sharing services, or arranging alternative transportation when consuming alcohol.
