Edinburg Prepares for 43rd Annual David Chavana 10K Run/Walk

EDINBURG, Texas — The City of Edinburg will host the 43rd Annual David Chavana 10K Run/Walk, the Rio Grande Valley’s largest 10K event, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department, followed by a Fun Run at 10 a.m.

Participants can also attend a Health and Wellness Expo on Friday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Wellness Center. Later that evening, the 10th Annual Miracle Mile will take place at 6 p.m. at Richard R. Flores Stadium. This inclusive event celebrates the special needs community with a walk/run designed to inspire and engage participants of all abilities.

Registration for the 10K and Fun Run is open online at ActiveEdinburg.com until Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 11:59 p.m. In-person registration will continue through Friday, Jan. 31, at the Edinburg Parks and Recreation office located at 315 Mark S. Pena Drive. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participation in the Miracle Mile is free of charge.
